Thank you for visiting my website. I decided to start it as a place to showcase my life in a slightly different way. Like so many other people, I have a bucket list and I wanted a place to share that list and also the achievements it brings as I complete the items. Many people have small lists .. I don’t. I know that many people will say that my list is over the top and how do I ever believe that I will achieve them all .. my simple answer is that I won’t and I understand that – but a full and exciting list, that continues to grow, will only make my life more interesting!
Bucket Lists are quite common things these days; Everyone seems to have one of some description. I have had one for a while and add to it as much as possible. I thought I would add it here for you all to see, and so that I can endeavour to keep it as up to date as possible – both adding to it to reach my target of 1001 things and also keeping you up to date with the progress stories! Take a look, read the stories and let me know if you think there is a duplicate, or indeed give me suggestions for things to add..!
Creating the list so far (thinking of 1001 things to do in one sitting is quite tough!) was exciting – I kept thinking about all the fun I am going to have whilst crossing each item off. I hope that the list will create new adventures for me, both meaningful and exciting.
My list contains many “easy items” (things that 99% of the World’s population could achieve should they wish to) and “Hard items” (these are relative to me I guess, but are projects that could take time and/or money to complete). I have tried not to add things that I have no control over (e.g. see England win the World Cup) as I won’t get any satisfaction when it doesn’t happen!
I have to admit that I have ‘cheated’ on a few items – I have added some things to my list that I have already done. I did this because I am proud and/or pleased that they have been achieved and wanted to share the experience. Some of them are also the type of things that you see on other peoples lists.
So go and take a look at the list and come back often to see how I am doing – each time I cross something off, I shall try to write about it so you can see/hear the evidence!
Please note that this list is a work in progress and therefore will continue to grow as I get older …. I should also warn you that there are some adult themed items contained on this list, so if you are under the legal age of consent in your country, please navigate away NOW!
“When you get those rare moments of clarity, those flashes when the universe makes sense, you try desperately to hold on to them. They are the life boats for the darker times, when the vastness of it all, the incomprehensible nature of life is completely illusive. So the question becomes, or should have been all along: What would you do if you knew you only had one day or one week or one month to live? What lifeboat would you grab onto? What secret would you tell? What band wold you see? What person would you declare your love to? What wish would you fulfil? What exotic locale would you fly to for coffee? What book would you write?” Narrator in “One Week”
“To strive, to seek, to find and not to yield.”
“Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming – “WOW – What a Ride!” Anonymous
